Kelly Payton, IAABC-ADT, FDM
(she, her)
Kelly started her dog journey as a volunteer for local shelters and rescues. She quickly learned she had a soft spot for dogs who needed some extra help and threw herself into the world of training and behavior modification.
Kelly is an Accredited Dog Trainer through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and a Family Dog Mediator through the L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation® Professional Course. She’s also an AKC Evaluator. She devotes herself to science-based methods that make both ends of the leash feel comfortable and safe.
Having owned challenging dogs herself, Kelly aims to be a compassionate non-judgmental resource that helps both clients and their dog succeed.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys hiking with her dogs Charlotte, Noah and Greg, binging Parks & Rec or The Office for the 100th time with her fiance Joe, and cursing the existence of gluten.
The Helpers
-
Noah
Noah (aka “Nerd”) was Kelly’s first foster from Rhode Home Rescue. He is a lovely “first friend” and an overall goof who helps other dogs come out of their shells. He enjoys hiking, cheeseburgers, and supervising the squirrels in his yard.

Charlotte
Charlotte is a silly pittie mix who loves chasing and wrestling all her dog friends. She’s also a foster fail from Rhode Home Rescue! In her downtime, she enjoys cuddling with her parents (which is a full-contact sport) and pestering her older brothers.

Greg
Greg is the newest member of the Payton’s Paws family. He is a lab mix who was adopted from a rescue in Arkansas. He spent years living with a professional trainer, helping with their remedial socialization program, and being an overall good guy. He joined our family right around age 6 and enjoys hiking, cuddling, and letting his people know when the food delivery arrives.
